There's no way Carrie could be there the entire six weeks. Her tour may not start until March 11, but you can bet that there will be lots and lots of rehearsals and preparation in the few weeks leading up to it. My guess is that her role is minor, not even what you would consider "supporting" and it will only take a few days to film.

Of course Carrie got paid for the variety special. As to the amount, I have no idea. The network gets advertising dollars for commercials during the show. And the network pays for Carrie's drawing power which is largely responsible for the advertising dollars they can get for the spots during the show.

^ That would be great! Tim McGraw is getting alot of movie roles lately, and even though some are small roles, or supporting, I think he is actually pretty good at it. I have liked him in every one of his movies so far.

Toby Keith was good too in that movie with John Travolta's wife, Kelly Preston I think.

Was just looking at the YouTube vid YouTube - Heart of a Soul Surfer: The Bethany Hamilton Story and the write up on the side of the vid mentions " the shark attack and how God has used that as a platform to give her an opportunity to share the gospel." Could be one of the reasons why Carrie decided to be part of this. The other reason could be they pay you to go to Hawaii. lol!

As long as the movie's respectably done, sounds good to me. I'd be more interested if Carrie were singing which she might be for all I know. Seems like nice family friendly entertainment.

I don't know anything for sure but it seems to me like Carrie might have certain conditions for roles that would limit the ones she'd want to do. Like I don't know if she'd be willing to kiss another guy or show a lot of skin. So that'd be limiting. I respect that though and it's not like acting's her main thing anyway.

If "Sony Pictures Entertainment" is involved, IT IS A BIG BUDGET MOVIE. "2012" Movie and "This Is It" Movie of "Michael Jackson, to name a few and IT IS ALWAYS SIMULTANEOUS SHOWING WORLDWIDE. I am very excited about the new music of Carrie. I love "Time For Miracles" of the "2012" Movie.

I know now, why Carrie said yes to this movie.

Bethany questioned and wondered why the shark attack should happen to her or to anybody. The incident compelled Bethany to reach inside herself to discover her purpose in life. I just bought the documentary DVD of Bethany from Amazon.com. The film is about the shark attack and how God has used that as a flat form to give her an opportunity to share the gospel.

Still pretty sweet news if this does turn out to be legit. I've read pretty much all the posts in this thread and it does sound pretty exciting. I remember hearing about Bethany when she was attacked by the shark as it followed a few shark attacks that unfortunately happened over here. Carrie will definitely be in the soundtrack if she is in the movie and hopefully it's a new song (Just like Ever Ever After was!!)

I bet the ten million was a start up budget that Hawaii came up with for now...but with Sony on board, it will likely double or triple. A Ten Million Dollar budget isn't alot for a movie. That wouldn't be enough to pay Dennis Quaid and Helen Hunt, let alone Carrie, Anne Sophia, and the other actors. lol

I think Sony bought the film now so I am sure the budget just got alot bigger. lol
