Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong??

I'm trying to make a blend, and I've gotten as far as putting the pictures next to each other & then using the eraser tool- which is supposed to create the blend effect. Problem is, everytime I try to erase the images to overlap, and I just end up erasing too much of the image, instead of blending them.

Can someone who knows about Gimp tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Which office do you use?

makre sure your eraser isnt too large. scale it down. also make sure that your edges of the eraser is faded. that will also help. (Opacity)
