Always welcome new music, but not super excited about the producer. Seems too pop.

But I second a Reba/Carrie duet.

I think what Carrie may desperately need is a pop hit, or a pop crossover. Something to sell really big. Almost all the winners at the CMAs had some sort of pop experience - whether it was a crossover single, touring with a pop artist, etc. Maybe she is just working with this guy for one song, lol.

Exciting!! DA can peak in July (I want a nice looong climb to the top so she can be high on the year-end countdowns this year) and then lead single in September!

Possibly. It's obviously way too early to know what direction she's going to go in, so no worries about that from me yet, just hope we don't get an Ariana Grande album from Carrie, lol.

If the next album is more on the pop side I hope she leans more with the sound of "Chaser" and "Relapse" rather than "That song" and "EUWY"

Agree. I love both EUWY and That Song, but the production of the poppy songs from Storyteller was so cinematic and could work better on country imo

There was that rumor before last era that Carrie was releasing a duet with Niall Horan (big pop star/member of One Direction)...I don't think that came from nowhere...so I could see a crossover release (and smash), finally.

Niall Horan isn't exactly releasing huge hits, at least in the US, so if she goes that route hopefully it would be with someone bigger.

Well the Cry Pretty Era is over and not a single major award was given but...looking forward to the upcoming stuff she's planning for us and her.

Didn't she win female vocalist in 2018? Doesn't that count towards the CP era? No more rewarded that ST from memory.

Yes, and an ACM (for The Fighter) early on, too. I know that they may not be in the categories that we want, but they shouldn't be ignored or disguarded.

CP was released in Fall 2018, right? I would love for her to get back to bi-annual album releases to keep her name and music out there, but I'm guessing we would be looking at Spring 2021 at the earliest and probably Fall 2021 most likely. She did do bi-annual early in her career, but ever since Blown Away she seems to take longer and I don't know that I see her going back from that. Yes, there have been different circumstances such as Isaiah and the fall/miscarriages that led to some of those delays, but I still think she will take 2.5-3 years between albums.
