Heard about this on MSN. The Andy Griffith Show was one of my favorite shows ever since I was little; me and my Grandpa would often watch it together. Andy and Don Knotts made a great duo on that show. He'll be greatly missed. <3

R.I.P. Mr. Andy Griffith

Here's the theme song in his honor;

Now he can sit on the front porch with Barney, Aunt Bea, Goober, Floyd & Otis & drink grape sodas after Sunday services. RIP Andy!!!

I guess I'm too young to remember him on TV and such...I just know him from those Obama ads he did on Funny Or Die back in 2008.

Oh well, wish his family the best :)

I don't know this for sure, but I would be willing to bet that the Andy Griffith Show or Andy Of Mayberry has been on some station somewhere around the country since the time it first began. Just great great stuff!

Andy Griffith was a true icon. When I read this news, I thought of the Waitin' On a Woman video he did with Brad. I love what he brought to that video.
My prayers are with his family and friends.
Brad tweeted about the news of Andy's passing with kind words and a picture of himself with Andy from Waitin' On a Woman.

Great underappreciated actor.
Great sublty and humanity.
Always strived to give and to make better.
So grateful we have his legacy on television and that it still stands up today as well as it ever did.

Waitin' On a Woman was the first thing that popped into my mind as well. And considering Andy's wife is still alive, you can bet he's up there sitting on a bench telling St. Peter he can't come in yet because he's waitin on his woman.

From the Andy Griffith show all the way to the occasional appearances he's made in the last few years, he was always a nice guy, a classy guy, a great actor, and a great example of the America we all either remember or wish we could get back to. Thanks for everything Andy. RIP.

I watched Andy Grifith Show when I was a kid and now I'm a senior and I still watch the re-run here on the Canadian channel. What a great guy Andy was and he surely is missed.
RIP Andy.
