A lifetime appointment!

Just want to share some big news with fellow Carrie fans.

Last Sunday, I was ordained as an Elder of the church and formally presented to the church congregation. This lifetime appointment is humbling and daunting and joyous, all at the same time. This journey was long with many bumps along the way, and yet was all in God's timing.

It will take some time to get use to being addressed "elder", "overseer", "pastor", "shepherd", and especially "bishop". My thanksgiving to God is overflowing and I wanted to share this amazing blessing with you.

Thank you Ann and everyone. The decision to go forth with the Elder process took a lot of reflection by my wife and I as we noted what God has been doing in my life. God gave talents and I need to be a good steward of them.

Me being a blessing to the church goes both ways because I'm so blessed by it (it is more blessed to give than to receive - Acts 20:35).

Peter~ Congratulations! You will be fantastic in this new appointment. I know you have been working toward it for quite some time. Best wishes to you and your family as you continue on this journey through God. So happy and proud of you! May God continue to bless you on this new endeavor!

After six months in this role, I contemplated and prayed for His leading as to a focus area of ministry. Looks like the areas will be Missions and Men's Ministry. So exciting! I am getting ready to see first hand what my church is doing in support of a boys orphanage in central Mexico as we deliver presents to the boys and words of encouragement to the leaders. A fellow elder and I will be traveling there on Monday. Thank you in advance for your prayers! God bless!

A very very belated thank you. Our church has continued in our partnership with this orphanage near Guadalajara, Mexico. The number of boys vary as some "age out" at 18. A flurry of new boys, many young, have come in and we are working with the local leadership to support. Thank you for your prayers.
