'My Gift' - Christmas cd out Sept 25

Last night I stayed up to watch the special! Oops.... She sounded awesome. Gosh she has such a beautifel voice!

Our radio stations just started playing Christmas songs and now I just love/appreciate even more the approach Carrie took with this album.
Some may find boring...
But it is the true meaning of Christmas without too many whistles. And that fits/is Carrie.
Birth of Jesus, love, hope, peace and family (togetherness). Not the number gifts underneath the Christmas tree. Not the over the top Christmas decorations.
Not the commercial approach of Christmas. Which is also fine but we have already got alot Jingle Bell kind of songs! Her voice is just an instrumental on it’s own.

Just one thing I noticed (and so not Carrie!) is that it isn’t really ‘live singing’ throughout the whole set. You see it especially in the second verse of Oh Holly Night (due to not so great editing).. Probably she sung it a couple of times for some of the up close shots (Maybe they had only 1 camera). I hope her own special has better editing... If you don’t know her you would probably think she lipsynched it (because she is that good, lol!)

i actually like and appreciate your vocal pedagogical views.. very informative! And with your explanations, it makes Carrie more amazing since she still sounds good even if some of her methods are not the healthiest...

I very much enjoy it too, I think our fanbase is extremely lucky to have someone like MelissaD who keeps enlightening us with her knowledge on vocal pedagogy. She also has a youtube channel where she frequently posts Carrie's vocal highlights, range, etc. You guys should go check it out too.

Trying to watch the special and the audio quality is really bad. I don't know if iHeart uploaded a bad video or what, because it didn't work for me on two different sites, but other videos have worked, so not sure.

I just saw a tweet that said they saw Carrie in a commercial for the Tonight show this week for the album/ promoting the special I am guessing. Guests right now are only listed through 12/2, so maybe she will be on the show 12/3? Did anyone else see this commercial yet to verify this is legit, lol?
