Holiday special on HBO Max

The special is everything I could have hoped for and more!! Vocally everything was wonderful, and Carrie has such a sweet family! The part with Carrie and Isaiah recording Little Drummer Boy is absolutely precious, and it was great seeing her mom on there also!

Hello everyone! I can't remember the last time I posted on here, but I couldn't let a day like today pass without coming to join in on some of the fun! I try to post on Twitter when something exciting is happening in Carrie-land, but life just doesn't seem to leave me time for CF anymore.
I haven't had a chance to catch up on the Today show or Instagram Live, but I did catch most of the iHeart radio special when it was on YouTube. We use AT&T for our internet and cell phone service and they are running a promotion for a free 30-day trial for HBOMax using a special AT&T customer code. So, I'm pretty excited that I can watch the My Gift special all month long, although I wish we could buy it to keep forever as well. Anyway, I couldn't wait to watch the special any longer, so I watched it with my mom and my daughter at lunch today. I wasn't able to focus as much as I liked because they both talked during it. I literally don't even remember her singing HYAMLC, lol.
Anyway, I thought special was just beautifully produced. The set was perfect and the costuming was just exquisite. Carrie looked like Holiday Barbie in nearly every dress! My favorite performance was easily OHN, but it has always been my favorite Christmas song. The moment when she sang "Christ is Lord" and the stained glass windows appeared behind her was just breathtaking. I caught myself tearing up more than once during the special, especially watching Carrie with Isaiah in the recording studio and seeing some of the family pictures and videos. I can't wait to watch it a million more times between now and January 2nd (when my free trial ends, lol)!

I was shocked by that too. I thought it was a lot shorter time she was in LA filming the special but after what she said about the rehearsals,prep work, outfit fittings,I can see why it took that long to lay that groundwork for it. I was really shocked & blown away when she said that. It was a lot longer than I was expecting myself.

Maybe Carrie was doing other things besides the special, that we haven't heard about...yet..
I thought free trials were only for one week? How'd you get a month?

Just finished watching the entire show (and backtracking to see several parts more than once). Ill play it again all weekend while baking Christmas cookies! Some of my surprisingly favorite moments were Something in the Water, shared moments with the family and of course the Isaiah studio session. She looked like an angel and those dresses and that set were stunning. Really enjoyed it

Just finished! Loved it so much! SITW brought me to tears! Loved Little Drummer Boy and I thought Joyful Joyful sounds so great on this special. I think it’s better being played in the middle instead of opening like on the album.

I don’t have roku but I watched the special on my phone signed up for the free trial, and download the app. I’m assuming you have a smart phone or a tablet and note my phone is on the older side (released back in 2014). That or maybe you can download HBO on your computer i haven’t tried it but I can watch Netflix on my laptop maybe you can do the same with HBO max
