Caught the tail end of GS on the radio! It was great
With Carly Pearceās current one going #1 this week, and Mirandaās current single appearing to be done, this puts Carrie in a good position to get more of the āfemale spinsā since the only other female above her is Maren.
This goes back to the old "Saladgate" controversy, where a radio programmer discussed the radio formula for the country music industry and compared female artists to tomatoes on a salad , with "salad" being the airplay selection - basically acknowledging that the industry viewed them as a garnishment rather than a substantive portion. It was pathetic, but it was a rare moment when someone in power spoke aloud what had previously been unacknowledged. We knew it already, but it didn't lessen the sickening feeling of having it confirmed. So, the post in question was acknowledging the "formula" that exists. If there are a certain number of "tomato" spots to be had and some of the other "tomatoes" are falling with reduced spins, then Carrie, as a "tomato", may benefit.Iām not sure how that works.
They usually only have a set amount of songs that they keep in a certain rotation for females. Right now Carly Pearceās song is in high rotation (itās in the top 5,) and Marenās and Mirandaās songs are in medium rotation (they are in the top 15/20.)Iām not sure how that works.
Yeah, so makes sense how today theyāre close enough to swap spots, but hopefully that also means it is possible to repass NHF soon^ on Monday they were 218 pts apart
Yesss she was so good last time! Sheās gonna have so much fun with HunterGirl.Off topic: Carrie mentoring top 5 from Vegss on Idol next week!
