Late to the party but I am shocked Amy Adams did not win for Sharper Objects. She was brilliant in that role. At least Patricia Clarkson won.

^I have never seen most of the nominated television shows. I pay $100 a month for satellite plus $10 for Netflix. I still don’t get HBO or any other premium channels. Forget about Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc. How can people afford to be able to watch everything? I’m not paying $200 a month for television. I can’t believe I pay over $100.

Guess that’s my soapbox on the price of television. Lol

^Yeah, a friend of mine said I could share their Hulu. I may have to take them up on it. I still have not watched "Handmaid's Tail".

I do that as well .I have Netflix, my brother and sister-in-law have Hulu, my friend has HBO, and my sisters boyfriend has Prime. I would love to be able to pay for all of them, but that would be too expensive.

I was suprised that Richard Madden won. I enjoyed the bodyguard and thought that he did a great job, but I know a lot of people did not. So I couldn’t believe that he won.

I saw Vice. I really liked it, but it is aimed directly at me. I also really like Adam McKay's style but I completely understand why some people don't. Christian Bale is an acting god. Amy Adams is really excellent here. Originally I didn't want her to finally win for freaking Lynne Cheney of all people, but her performance is really great so I'd be good with it. Sam Rockwell is also good to a lesser extent. I thought Steve Carell was the weak link here. Makeup should be a slam dunk. Anyway, these are just scattered thoughts.

I've closed out three SAG categories. Here are my personal preferences.

Male Actor in a Leading Role
1) Christian Bale, Vice
2) John David Washington, BlacKkKlansman
3) Bradley Cooper, A Star is Born
4) Rami Malek, Bohemian Rhapsody
5) Viggo Mortensen, Green Book

Female Actor in a Supporting Role
1) Emma Stone, The Favourite
2) Rachel Weisz, The Favourite
3) Amy Adams, Vice
4) Emily Blunt, A Quiet Place
5) Margot Robbie, Mary, Queen of Scots
(These are all fantastic, by the way, even if only two of them are actually supporting performances.)

Cast in a Motion Picture
1) Crazy Rich Asians
2) BlacKkKlansman
3) Black Panther
4) A Star is Born
5) Bohemian Rhapsody

I watched Roma and I have to say I was extremely disappointed. It was one of the most painfully boring movies I have ever seen. I don’t know if it was due to it being in a foreign language or black and white or what, but I felt no connection at all to the characters even though I wanted to. It was like it lulled me to sleep with the mundane so greatly that even when something happened I was too comatose to care. Honestly, I feel asleep. There were moments I felt it had potential but it was like there was a wall between it and me. I wanted to like it because “Gravity” is one of my favorite movies of all time, but it was one of those ‘give me the last 2 hours back!’ movies.

^I've heard that from others as well. That's a bit disappointing but I'm going to keep an open mind going into it. I should get around to it, soon. Right now I'm busy watching Bodyguard on stuffy's recommendation, lol. I'm really liking it so far.

^You may like "Roma". I think you said you liked "First Man" and I almost fell asleep during it as well, lol. That's happening more and more lately. I think I'm getting old!

I really liked "Bodyguard". I was on the edge of my seat for the last half of the show.

^I did love First Man so that's good to hear! (That I may like it, not that you're falling asleep in movies more, haha)

I just finished the fourth episode of Bodyguard, so I'm just getting into the second half!

Where is Claire Foy and Emily Blunt???

I haven't seen Mary Poppins Returns yet but Claire Foy was incredible in First Man.

And no Bradley Cooper in Director???

SAG Awards:

So happy Emily Blunt won for “A Quiet Place”! Complete surprise but well deserved. She should have been nominated for an Oscar.

Again surprised Rami Malek won. So glad it wasn’t Christian Bale. Hopefully he can hold him off at Oscars as well. Even though I actually want Bradley Cooper to win.

Really surprised “Black Panther” won. I am glad Marvel is getting recognized but there was nothing about the movie that stood out above other Marvel movies. I prefer “Captain America”.

AIgrl06

^For some reason I thought that said "I preferred Captain Marvel" and I was like, girl, that hasn't even come out yet. Lol. Anyway, I thought Black Panther had an amazing ensemble so I'm good with that one. Loved Emily's win as well. Her performance in A Quiet Place is spectacular. Ali and Close are fine even if they're not my favorites in the category. Malek's win irks me 'cause I think Bale was 1000x better, but oh well.

I think BAFTA repeats both Actor categories. I think Colman and Weisz will take the Actress categories. Am I crazy for thinking Glenn Close will lose BAFTA?
