Lol, be like me where you make some playlist that’s like 15 hours long and alternate This Time and Drinking Alone with the volume on the first notch and head phones plugged in while you do other stuff. It’s important to alternate and not be mute so that Spotify doesn’t think you’re a streaming bot. I was doing some research haha.

On a side note, I still wish SO badly other streaming services were like Spotify where the streams are visible. DA’s popularity bar on Amazon Music is the highest it can be like Southbound (way higher than CP, LW, and TC). It’s the third song on their Country Heat playlist out of 50 songs which updates weekly and it’s also on their Country Hits playlist which is a lot smaller in the number of songs it has.

I wonder how Drinking Alone's weekly streaming numbers are going to look after it gets taken out of Spotify's Hot Country Songs playlist. I imagine that will happen soon as for other songs in the past it happens within a couple weeks of when a song makes it's decent down the chart. Honestly, the only reason DA's numbers are so low is by how long it took Spotify to put it in that playlist. Had it been in there since it was released as a single it's number's would be a lot closer to Southbound's.

Spotify is a pain in the butt...idk why Amazon and Apple Music had Drinking Alone on their own country playlists early on (I think on Apple it might have been on after the CMA Awards but I'm not entirely sure), but people had to beg to have it on the Hot Country Songs Playlist. Southbound is still getting streamed pretty consistently and is on her popular section on Spotify even though it isn't on a big playlist which is good!

This is about the exact spot (15m streams) that Love Wins was at whenever it peaked so I imagine it will have a pretty similar decent and stallout.

Thanks for the info! I guess that shows that this was bigger than LW cause from what I remember LW was put in that major playlist immediately and DA was only in it for the final 2-3 months of its chart run. Just hope it continues to stream well so it can reach gold within a year or so.

DA has officially been removed from Spotify’s Hot Country Songs Playlist. Wish they were as quick to add it as they were quick to remove it.

Although these are just estimates, I would say a single needs to be at least at about 300k SPS to be certified Gold and DA's streaming numbers are already starting to fall. But here's to hoping!

Yeah I agree it’ll definitely be awhile, but I’m gonna assume it’s probably past at least 20 million on Apple Music just because of their playlists being much timelier. One can hope! And I think the number of users is approximately the same give or take.

When you calculate them you add Spotify #s, music video numbers, as well as the other two of the tracks that are on her official YouTube page divide by 150 then add its sales right?

Cry Pretty: 638,000 for example (Spotify 39,850,000 + Music Video 19,280,000 + lyric video 7,761,000 + other official audio from her account 590,000) divide by 150 and add that to its sales (189,000)
Southbound: 432,000

My bad! I hadn't updated the Youtube views in a little while and apparently the my sales column had DA at 22k (at 35k) so I was off by a little bit. I updated it to what I have now, but I don't inlcude the other two tracks on her page. So I have it at 197k now
