A short review on the show: Keith Urban @ Adelaide Entertainment Centre 06/12/16 ? Live Review Amnplify
On this tour Keith Urban is both promoting and celebrating the release of his eighth studio album Ripcord and is joined by country music goddess Carrie Underwood. Rising to fame quickly as winner of American Idol and firmly keeping her place as one of the best female country singers, this was a headliner and support act combination like no other.
Opening the show with Good Girl, Underwood came out with force, atop a platform hosting the drummer and keyboardist she stood firmly between them and proved exactly why she was here. Her hour-long set was flawless, flanked by a solid band and a stunning visual display. Gorgeous lighting carefully followed by a spotlight everywhere she went all projected across the large LED screens which filled the stage behind her. No matter where you were in the room you were guaranteed to see every move she made.
Underwood chose a careful set list with snippets from right across her decade long career, a touch of rock, a bit of love and a whole lot of country songs included Church Bells, Jesus Take the Wheel, Last Name and more. Slowing for just a moment to pay homage to her queen Dolly Parton with a cover of I will Always Love You. A stunning rendition of an amazing piece of music simply played with an acoustic guitar and her voice, yet so powerful at the same time.
Underwood finished of her fast paced and energetic set with Before He Cheats and my personal favourite, Something In The Water. The crowd going wild and staying with her lyric for lyric for most of her set. You would have thought this was her own headline show.
