Ghost Story chart updates

With Carly Pearce’s current one going #1 this week, and Miranda’s current single appearing to be done, this puts Carrie in a good position to get more of the “female spins” since the only other female above her is Maren.

I’m not sure how that works.

This goes back to the old "Saladgate" controversy, where a radio programmer discussed the radio formula for the country music industry and compared female artists to tomatoes on a salad , with "salad" being the airplay selection - basically acknowledging that the industry viewed them as a garnishment rather than a substantive portion. It was pathetic, but it was a rare moment when someone in power spoke aloud what had previously been unacknowledged. We knew it already, but it didn't lessen the sickening feeling of having it confirmed. So, the post in question was acknowledging the "formula" that exists. If there are a certain number of "tomato" spots to be had and some of the other "tomatoes" are falling with reduced spins, then Carrie, as a "tomato", may benefit.

Welcome to country music, friends.

They usually only have a set amount of songs that they keep in a certain rotation for females. Right now Carly Pearce’s song is in high rotation (it’s in the top 5,) and Maren’s and Miranda’s songs are in medium rotation (they are in the top 15/20.)
Those are three women that radio is currently paying attention to. After this week, Carly and Miranda’s songs won’t be in rotation like they were since their respective labels will have stopped promoting them. Carrie is the next female in line to be receiving some of that attention that was being placed on CP & ML’s songs. Thus meaning, hopefully, we will start to see some better movement, as they move it from night time spins to day time spins.
Of course they only do this with women though. They could never do one of their good ole boys that are a dime a dozen that way. Smh

Still a good day, with a great update. They must be neck and neck in points as they’ve had similar updates all week. I’d like to hope GS could pass NHF again but we will see
