Carrie Underwood.....Greatest Hits: Decade #1 ERA

The new song she's believed to be performing at the Global Citizen concert may have a theme that links into the World Poverty issue in some way. Of the titles we've seen, "Wishing Well", for example, could turn out to be a song of that type.
We simply don't know anything more about these songs - and it's also possible that the new song is not one of those that's been listed yet.

I don't see Carrie singing it at the festival since it is for world hunger platform. Doubt she sees it as a promotion opportunity.

it's not like she can do a full 40 minute set devoted to world hunger.
The point is to entertain while helping world hunger.Debuting a new single would help draw attention to the concert and the cause.

Agree and Carrie and her team can arrange it to where 50% of the lead single sales goes towards world hunger.

I hope you're being sarcastic. BHC, LN, CC, UI, and GG may only make up 5 of her 18 singles, but they make up the biggest group of similar-themed songs of Carrie's singles with their boy theme. That's why I hope this new album has catchy, upbeat songs without having to be about boys otherwise she'll be typecast into that corner even more. Carrie's also known for her inspirational songs, JTTW, SS, TH, and SYA, but quantitatively there are only 4, and the boy songs are overall more well known than her inspirational singles (Carrie doesn't even perform SS and TH live anymore). I would say DFTRM, ITYS, and MS fall into another category. Wasted and AAG kind of fall into categories of their own. And I guess JAD can be lumped with BA and TBC, or stand on its own as well.
I was not being sarcastic, I was stating my opinion, and I respect yours. I have a huge group of family and friends, both old and young, who are Carrie addicted just as I. They, and everybody I know, associates Carrie with a variety of great songs, great vocals and would never think of her in terms of male bashing based on a few songs. Her revenge songs are fun and and just a part of the brilliant versatility of her work. Her albums contain great variety (hence, the reputation of not being cohesive or having a theme). As for SS and TH, she sang them at 6 out of 8 concerts this summer and did SS at the Fan Club party, as well. She has performed TH at every concert I have attended since it was released.

ITS OFFICIAL! According to Billboard, Garth's album is coming out Nov 11. Not Black Friday, so Carrie would still do CMA week or near Black Friday?

^ Carrie can sing Change and/or Keep US Safe for the requisite charity songs.

The rest of her set has to entertain a rowdy JayZ crowd of 60.000 in Central Park- all while pregnant. Lol

She has to bring it hard for that type of mainstream crowd so upbeat songs and the lead single would be great if she does Keep Us Safe or Change.

Carrie would be better off doing Black Friday week imo as she can perform at the AMAs that Sunday and avoid Taylor's second week sales the first week of a November. TS may still sell 300k in week 2 knowing her teen popfans.

Plus carrie will be busy with hosting CMA week so maybe she can't promote the cd that week?

Black Friday week will work if carrie gets tv Target ads and huge sales on Black Friday.

^ oh gosh that sucks then. Lol not a good scenario really. Oh well at least we will get the lead single! Lol

Eminem is a big a seller. So is carrie- but he usually beats her I think. Ugh.

maybe they are better off waiting till December ? Is that ever done?

So Carrie gets a 40 minute set? I've not seen this event in years past, do the entertainers each do a charity type of song as part of their set? Does everyone come out at the end and sing something together?

I looked into Black Friday week..Eminen's release is a double disc feat greatest hits and new music of him & other artists on his label. So with it not being a full new studio album, it might not sell as much. Also Nicki Minaj is releasing the Monday of Black Friday, but I feel like Carrie could take her on...maybe. Lol

If Carrie releases her album CMA week, she could announce it in the lead up to the show, she and Brad do an interview, right? She could have Brad announce it at the CMAs when he introduces Carrie's performance. I think it was mentioned before that she could appear on GMA and then announce it there.

I would rather it be CMA week instead of Black Friday week because during Black Friday week, people will be pre-occupied with prepping for Thanksgiving, football and Black Friday sales for big ticket items, and they may not notice the announcement as much. If Carrie announces earlier, she will still get the Black Friday sales effect for people who shop then (not me!).

Honestly, Garth releasing Nov 11th might actually be very bad if they're trying to avoid him.

Oct 27th-Taylor releases
Nov 3rd-CMA Week, Taylor's 2nd week. I think Carrie could probably beat Taylor's 2nd week especially during CMA week. This might be the best date to release, but I think it might turn into CR Pt 2 where she only gets 1 week at No. 1 on the Country Albums chart.
Nov 11-Garth releases. Out of the question for both country albums chart, Billboard 200 and also I doubt her label wants her to release the same week they're pushing Garth.
Nov 17-One Direction releases new album. Also Garth's 2nd week. I don't think Carrie would do well here.
Nov 24-Eminem & Nicki Minaj release. She could maybe take Eminem's GH and Nicki Minaj on. Maybe.
Dec 1-Mary J Blige releases. She could probably do this week.
Dec 8-Nothing as of now
Dec 15-Nothing
Dec 22-Nothing
Dec 29-Nothing (do people even release this late?)

Also do keep in mind that ADELE is likely coming at some point.

I think the best chances for a No. 1 for Carrie in November would be CMA Week. (That also gets us the album sooner. :p) If not, I think she should wait till December assuming Adele doesn't release in December, which I have a feeling she might decide to do that due to lack of competition, etc. I guess we'll see.

Honestly though, even if Carrie's album doesn't hit No. 1 I personally don't see it as a big deal. I'd rather we get the album this fall and have it not hit No. 1 than have to wait till next year to enjoy new Carrie music. JMO.

Garth is relevant in my opinion. There are A LOT of people like myself who have been waiting so long for him to be back. I will definitely be buying the album the day it is out.

I still wonder why so many are worried about Garth. Am I the only one who doesn't think he is relevant anymore?
I've been wondering the same thing...Garth is old news and no one older sells anymore usually. If it wasn't for this site I wouldn't even have a clue he was releasing and I can't speak for everyone but the majority of America's "younger people" could care less about this album

Idk if it means anything but I'm 21 and wasn't a country fan until 2005 thanks to Carrie and am excited for Garth's new album. Haven't heard his single (it isn't on youtube) don't listen to country radio (too many bro country songs being played)

Bro country has ruined country music right now. Blah! It needs Carrie!

I wouldn't underestimate Garth. Loads of people still love him. Didn't one of his recent releases (some combo/dvd things or something) sell a crap-ton despite being a Wal-Mart exclusive?
