I realized that I don't really care about these anymore. I don't listen to country music anymore (I do listen to Carrie's Country ) so I really don't have any idea what these people are doing. I just hope that LW doesn't win everything, that some other women can win. I saw the list of people who had the most nomination and realized that I don't like any of them. So not even bothering to watch.

Me too. One of the best channels on Sirius.... Sunday is a great day to listen... I love that she is so in touch with her faith..

It’s absolutely crazy it’s still getting nominated. She’s has multiple singles since then and it came out in 2022

It’s clear country music has entered a new era and it’s one I’m glad to be sitting out of. It’s funny tho. Back in the old days when Carrie was the new kid on the block, we were defending Carrie to the people that were saying the same thing about her and her generation. I guess it’s just the circle of life haha.

I agree with this to an extent, but none of these ladies came out swinging as hard as Carrie did when she first started out. Carrie’s first album was outselling many of her predecessor’s best selling albums, if not all of them (aside Shania.) None of these ladies albums have come anywhere close to selling what Carrie’s albums have (aside D&R.)

That’s the thing for me. If I saw these ladies having the impact Carrie did when she was red hot and new, fine, cool, but it seems the bar has been significantly lowered for this next generation. The fact that Carrie was busting ass at the peak of her career selling out arenas and breaking records with albums from 2005-2018, and was all shrugged off, just for them to have opening acts with one or two hits, that can’t even sell out a headlining arena show in EOTY? Give me a break.

^Right, and for me, it’s a double edged sword. Not so much with the ACMs, but definitely with the CMAs, it took Carrie 10 years into her career to even get an EOTY nomination. Now, these people who are 1-2 years of having mainstream success are not only getting nominated, but winning the award. On one hand, these newer artists do deserve the nominations based on the success they are having, but this is how it should have always been. It’s a shame Carrie had to work so hard and have all that success be completely pushed aside. I just hope these newer artists see the door Carrie opened for them
