This year? Executive producer Nigel Lythgoe just told me that online voting is going to be added this season. Though a publicist later told me it was not a done deal, Lythgoe’s exact quote to me was affirmative: “We are going to introduce online voting.”

Good lord, this is ridiculous! When will Idol producers learn most fans don't WANT these changes they keep trying to make?? It didn't work with Ellen & Kara, didn't work with letting contestants write their own music and on and on...

They're so desperate to keep their "audience," but they don't realize doing this will probably turn more loyal fans away.
