'Idol' album sales: Scotty McCreery, Jennifer Hudson, Carrie Underwood

Scotty McCreery remains the best-selling American Idol act this week, as his compilation of American Idol recordings sells an additional 8,000 units, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Scotty's collection charts at No. 56 on The Billboard 200, one of three Idol albums on that chart, along with Jennifer Hudson's I Remember Me and Carrie Underwood's Play On. Runner-up Lauren Alaina's compilation drops out of the top 200 this week.

Yeah, and maybe sooner. Don't know what's driving JTTW sales. Has been about 8k the last two weeks whereas it's about 2k-2.5k per week previously.

yeah It's great to see Carrie's singles doing so well and for Just A Dream to go platinum I'd say 4-5 weeks or between 4.2k-5.2k a week in sales SS hasn't had an update in a while but last time I saw one it was at 875,000 so it could theoretically be over a million sold and waiting for Arista Nashville to pay the RIAA for Certification

Some of Carrie's songs were on sale for 69 cents on iTunes the last two weeks, which helped sales quite a bit. They're not anymore though, so the 5,000/week for JAD will probably go down to 2,000/week again next week.

Just noticed that BHC is 21k behind "No Air", which I think is the best selling single by an Idol. Seems that BHC is destined to pass "No Air" soon.

I believe nothing happened for Carrie? So I suppose "Play On" has stabalized and will not drop much further until her next record drops!
