David Cook's The Last Goodbye debuted with 22,000 downloads after he performed the song on American Idol last week. But Idol wasn't the only TV show boosting track sales. Downloads of Carrie Underwood's recording of How Great Thou Art skyrocketed after she sang the hymn on CBS' Girls Night Out: Superstar Women of Country special. Also, it looks like James Durbin's Muse cover resonated with fans: Sales of Uprising rose up 686% after he sang it on the show last week, selling 50,000 copies.

If it did 13K just for Saturday and Sunday, it is going to be considerably higher next week. And working the number, this means that HGTA went from about 800 sales the previous week to 13K last week with most of that over 2 days.

800 copies in the previous week is awesome! Considering it has basically no airplay and is a pretty old song!

Too bad for David Cook though, it's his new leading single, and he performed it on American Idol...
