Haha love this! Tickled pink! I too can hear the distinction and the blended harmonies. Unequivocally country
I want to like this but I just don't think Loretta sounds good at all. She ruins it for me. Sorry
I think this would be waaaaay better if it were just Carrie and Reba doing the song together.
“Like”I get it's your opinion, but Loretta really doesn't sound like she lost a beat from her heyday. Her voice has aged, but it hasn't declined. She's sounds as strong as ever. Not sure if you listened to a lot of Loretta, but she's still sounding good 60+ years on. And really just the magnitude of who Carrie is performing with here makes this record important, regardless of vocal delivery. Without Loretta there is no Carrie OR Reba, OR Dolly, and so on.
I love the song with Loretta, Carrie and Reba. I am so impressed by the pristine quality of Loretta's voice after all these years - which is what truly makes the song so powerful. She is, indeed, "still woman enough." And Carrie and Reba's harmonies sound great. The fact that all three are involved demonstrates the legacy Loretta has within the country music industry. Reba and Carrie and their amazing careers continue the trailblazing that Loretta helped start.
