Awesome! Love seeing any increase, but nearly 30% is fantastic. I can't wait to see sales after the Grammys.

Play On had sold SO much more by this time :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

Well, yes, 1,689k vs 1270k. Out of this 419k, about 300k was due to the difference in sales during Christmas between the two albums.

Going forward, PO sold 310k in the next 40 weeks bringing the total after 80 weeks to 1,999k. I would bet money that BA will sell more than 310k in the next 40 weeks and may even do better than PO at the 80 week mark. We'll see what the Grammys bump will be.

^ I think you may be right. Carrie's albums are usually front loaded in sales due to Christmas sales-- but this album came out in May so it is selling at a slower yet steady rate.

If all goes well-- and they release at least 5-6 singles to extend this era, she should hit 2x platinum cert by next Christmas. I am not saying she will SCAN 2 million by Christmas-- but she should be certified 2x platinum by Christmas (hopefully).

It will all depend on how many singles they pump out. I am positive they will keep this era going through Christmas 2013 at least....since Carrie will be very busy with Sound of Music and she won't even start writing till 2014. So they will want to extend this era longer then usual.

Carrie performing at the CMA Fest tells me they plan to keep promoting the album through the rest of the year.

If she gets four singles certainly "Blown Away" will sell less than "Play On". But I think having a single or two extra would be crucial. They would be close.

I actually have a really good feeling that Blown Away will outsell Play On. It may do it at a slower rate (mostly due to the timing of its release IMO), but it will eventually do it.

Nice number this week! Play On was lot more front loaded so we can't really compare it to Blown Away just yet. Let's wait until Blown Away has 2 years before making the comparison.

Thanks for posting, Manchs. It's nice to see the sales numbers for RM and {JTTW, TH, HGTA} which indicates Brian Mansfield has a source for Christian tracks. Having the sales numbers for JTTW and TH helps to gauge the sales of other songs that are in the vicinity on the iTunes chart. Based on this, CC probably sold 3,500 and UI about 2,500 last week.

So BA is less then 200k from 2x plat, and Remind Me should be 2x plat by the end off the year. TBC should hit gold in a month or so. :)

Do you think TH could hit platinum by Christmas?

Also, how cool will it be if HGTA goes Gold in a year or so? How unexpected and cool. ha ha That song must be 100 years old right?
