^ lol close 7th.... but im really shocked, he was up 2 sets to 0. very unusual loss for the Fed man.

I hope the same doesnt play out for Nadal....he was up 2 sets to 0 against Fish and he just lost the 3rd set

the Federer we see now is a different Federer from 3-4 years ago. 30 years old is grandfather age in tennis. i get annoyed how people keep bringing up the 178-0 record when up 2 sets. those 178 matches happened during his prime!

yeah, he's pretty much done as the best in the world for the past 1-2 years. still top 4, but i don't see him winning another major.

^ i still think hes got one more major in him....but i still think its an unusual loss to someone like Tsonga (great player) but if it would have been Murray, Nadal, Djokovic. I could totally see it. or even if they had split sets in the beginning.

I have a question....does anyone here think Murray is that great?? i actually dont....but I want to know why everyone on the tennis world does

No. he's being built up because he's British. he'll be viewed differently if he's south american or eastern european

^ yeah, hes been built up for years and years and hes never produced yet the commentators always put him in the mix to be one of the favorites for the tournys. I dont see where they get that when hes never won...

Murray reminds me a lot of a younger Roddick.

A guy who will get deep into majors, but has a hard time winning one. He is young enough to win more than one like Roddick has but I don't see Murray winning more than a couple of majors if any at all with having to deal with Nadal & Djokovic.

Well Sharapovas in the womans final! I wish her the best of luck this time around! I remember the first time around I couldnt stand her, her personality, anything. But Ive grown the like her these past 2 yrs. So Im rooting for her.

Well that at least gives me a reason to watch. One of these years I want a Sharapova-Wozniacki final. That would be heaven. :p

Edit: In case you all haven't realized it, I'm not a huge tennis fan. I just watch the women, and only the ones I think are hot. lol

Andy Murray is managed by Simon Fuller

I've always loved to watch Sharapova play because she plays with such intensity- when will the
women's final be on TV ?

Once the Williams sisters retire it will be a very long time before any American male or female wins a major or any other tournament to be honest.

^ no doubt about that, itll be a sad day in tennis when one retires and then finally the other. I always enjoy watching them play and appreciate what theyve done for American tennis

Djokovic is in the final and with his win today he officially takes the #1 ranking away from Nadal no matter what happens in the rest of the tourny :(
