Hate My Heart chart updates

Not sure if it's stalling or if its just a combination of updates all around being relatively minimal, or a combination of both. At the bare minimum I hope they push it into the top 20. I'd love a top 10, but with the way things have looked over the past couple of weeks I'm not sure.

The CMTs and ACMs are in the near future, I wonder what she plans on performing. Maybe a good time to launch single 3 shortly after if it catches on. It's about to be really boring after tour is over, because these chart runs are leaving a lot to be desired.

I don't think she will, but I think a deluxe edition of the album to be released along side the release of single 3 would be a good option to try to respark interest in the album. Hopefully with IIDLY as one of the tacked on songs (for streaming purposes.)
It’s frustrating, because with all these songs about to go off, if they could just wait a few more weeks, we would for sure have a top twenty song and maybe that’d force radio to convert it to at least top fifteen.

I’m glad Carrie takes a while to make new music, because I feel like if she didn’t, they just might stop this album after two singles like Miranda and Maren did.

But if the singles aren't becoming memorable hits, it would be nice to get more music instead of waiting years to get a couple minor hits out of it. It'd be more interesting to try an get one or two hits and get music every 1-1.5 years instead of 2-3 years.

I always had some doubt about HMH, and not sure why they picked it for the 2nd single, was it because of Hardy, which for me I have no clue why his music does so well. And him as a singer, well not into him at all….

Burn , would have been a good choice, if they want radio friendly, ugh… or any other single . I agree let the other music be heard.

Yes, I agree. I never said otherwise but since Carrie does take time between albums it’s unlikely that can ever really happen here where we get music every 1-1.5 years due to the time off she takes. And considering some songs on the album seem much more radio friendly and could be potential hits (and are songs I like more) I guess I just wanted one or some of them to be released. Of course I would love if Carrie could have new music out soon and If that meant stopping this era after two singles, it would be fine by me lol. I do agree with what you said about finding a bigger hit from new music and have been feeling like at this rate it would be nice to just start over with a new era that will hopefully stand out more with some changes made (but I’m unsure that could even happen 🥲)

also as I’m typing this I realize maybe they could stop this era after two songs and Carrie just releases her usual duet lol

Agree. I remember posting when this came out I wasn’t sure it was going to do well. Then it hit the charts and for whatever reason it climbed fast. Until 23. Unlike a lot of songs by big artists it didn’t stall and peak in the 40s, so it’s like radio liked it, but then the public didn’t and they stopped playing it.

we were robbed of better single choices this era IMO lol. And last era too

Since their was mediocre response to Denim by her fans Carrie will be reluctant to release a album so soon because her fans did not support her all I heard was we want new music she was excited and then want was the response from fans I don’t like it so her fans just sent her a message by bad streaming and guarantee you if she released another album it would be the same from fans I don’t like it so basically her fan base dropped the ball on this album

Definitely not her fans dropping her lol and more a problem of lack of promo IMO but I do hope the underwhelming response to this album makes her team or her label or even Carrie initiate to her label some sort of major changes for next era. She said she is a competitive person so I hope they all come together with some plans to really bring some buzz back into her career

As we have seen in some recent posts, Carrie still manages to stand out for her performance on radio compared to other women. Yes, she no longer easily achieves a Top 5 ranking, but this is definitely not related to her talent as a singer, songwriter, or the quality of her music.

There are several factors at play, such as her no longer being a new artist in the market, radios playing younger women, Carrie's own age, her not having fully transitioned to streams (as many who bought her albums seem to not be listening to her new material). And while people talk about promotion, I wouldn't say she doesn't make an effort to promote her material. She still does many interviews, TV performances, releases her music videos, tries to be more active on social media, etc. The problem is that the way she promotes always sounds somewhat outdated. The new generation knows her for her legacy, for a hit or two, but they are not engaged in seeking out her album to listen to recent music.

Anyway, all of this can change the perception of how country radio decides to play her music or not. Kelsea, Maren, and Gabby have much better numbers than hers in streams, but they are younger, have a much greater pop appeal, and attract a much younger audience. Carrie would never do that, which makes it even more difficult.

^ I think the champion showed that Carrie does have a lot of pop appeal but as we know she won’t release things to pop, which is fine. But I still do think she has a lot of younger fans (she’s still young in my opinion), it’s just that there’s not an effort to promote the music to those fans like a lot of other artists do via things like tiktok, playlists, etc. I feel like Carrie definitely does promo her music, but for D&R, I feel like there wasn’t really any. Released in June a lot of the shows were off air, we unfortunately missed idol due to a sickness, etc. It just didn’t seem to have the push other albums did/do.

I really want to believe next era will do better than this. I mean, her gospel album is a very niche thing (unlike the Christmas album) and it did better. I fully believe she still has success left. Maybe She isn’t the it girl anymore, but she should/could still be having more success than she is with more proper promo

Yeah, but Carrie doesn’t have to take that much time off. Doubt she’s contractually obligated. She should switch up what she usually does, and be a bit more modern, but I’d imagine that’s unlikely.

If she pulled a Morgan Wallen and released a 36 song album, I wouldn’t complain, lol.

Sony is supposedly getting ready to launch a third single from Miranda’s album, which is following an outright flop. I highly doubt UMG stops with this, even if this one just climbs into the top 20.

Yes! I would love if Carrie would make this next album really quickly. I have a running theory of mine that she won't take much time off between this era and next. With Storyteller and CP she was pregnant between eras, between CP and D&R we had pandemic and she did the two passion projects. I know she always says that she finishes a tour and asks herself what's next, so I have a theory she will take some time off after the tour ends this month and then get to work on new music early next year, and we can have a lead single by the fall.

And for sure. We definitely need a longer album. I want one so bad, lol. Those seem to be common nowadays, even if it is not 36, i see 15-18 more often. It helps with streaming and all, so maybe she will go there next era? She writes the songs, she can just release a few more for us 😅

Oh are they? I had assumed the era was over since it has been so long lol. But yeah, I still agree on a third single. I think this era only has three though. Hopefully they make the right choice and we have a hit with that song. HMH can peak at #10 and then we can move on to that

A whopping 7 songs above HMH have lost the bullet this week. Likely Sooner rather than later we are going to have a massive chart clean out. I am confident HMH can hold on until that happens and easily peak around #10 at least

I’m not stressing over HMH. I love to see the song do well and obviously dislike when it stalls, BUT it is what it is! As for single #3… better place your bets on Crazy Angels!

Considering nobody saw HMH happening, I'd say any song is in the running.
