i am impressed with swifts sales though...good for her.
but i do agree it is because of the pop world, not the country.
and PO is doing pretty well in digital singles sales considering there hasnt been a massive (BHC) hit and ir doesnt have a fifth single =( (like Carnival Ride)

That's awesome! I agree though, Carrie's sales are not as high because she doesn't cater to pop.
It's not completely fair to compare Carrie & Taylor, especially because most of Taylor's sales come from pop fans, who seem to download more digital singles than country fans.
I also agree that a lot of pop songs are downloaded, but many songs (and pop artists) don't have the longevity country artists do. The songs may be popular for the moment, but it seems that once a popular country song is on Itunes, it sells consistently for a longer, steadier period.
