I know we're just halfway through the chart building but I find it interesting that Carrie is right there with her year old album with Brad and his brand spankin' new one!!!

It definitely is not. It's like 'marriage', 'thankful', 'pastoral', 'shepherd', etc which have nothing to do with any religions. Even less so than 'faith', 'mass', 'service', 'worship' which are not essentially religious terms either.

'Lord' is still widely used as formal titles (Lord Churchill, etc), legal field (In Britain, a 'law lord' is in America a Supreme Court judge. And everybody calls the judge in a high court of above 'my lord'.), in popular culture ('Time lords' in Doctor Who, the 'dark lord' in Harry Potter, etc), etc.

And ever IF it is used religiously, so what? There are more than 3000 confirmed deities in history, and the Hebrew god is merely one of them. Why can't someone considers anything/anyone else their god? So Muslims cannot call Allah their Lord either?

But to be back on topic, I'm still not surprised at the relatively low sales for Red, considering how much it has sold. '22' has not picked up much in airplay this past chart week either, and she has no country singles, so it's hardly a surprise that it's not selling loads.

Something to possibly note:

Little Big Town, Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson...and Imagine Dragons all got over a 20% increase over Mother's Day week.

We know what Mom's like, we know what Mom's want.

Went shopping today. Didn't see even one copy of BA. Actually, I only saw one copy each of SH and CR. That's it. Being a mom and grandma, I prefer the actual CD, as opposed to digital music. I'm sure I am not the only one.

It's so sad to see so much inventory of so many other artists and not Carrie.

Per roughstock.com, SYA sold 24k last week up from 23k the week prior. TBC sold 13k bringing it's total to 762k. BA has now sold 2.1 million. Hope more sales numbers come out soon. The BA album sold 9k bringing the total to 1.438 million.

don't forget music clubs are pretty much dead at this point around significant anniversaries albums see a spike in sales or when the artist releases new material their catalog sales go up for example
Mariah Carey's next Album is due out June 25th or July 2nd and with only the first single being out some of her catalog albums have already seen increases and she's singing a medley of her hits on the finale of American Idol tonight so sales will go up for next weeks chart last time we had updates Hero had sold 420k digital copies so if it does 50k after the Idol finale if it's in the medley then it goes Platinum+Gold she's had 11 platinum singles most before digital Hero for example was released on October 19th 1993 and ITunes launched may 9th 2003 nine years and 7 months later the single was certified platinum on December 15th 1993 easily following in it's predecessor Dreamlover's footsteps she was also the first female RNB singer to have consecutive double platinum singles Fantasy was certified 2x platinum on November 7th 1995 and One Sweet Day was on January 10th 1996
