Sure seems like it Glenn. Not a single solitary female nominated in the EOY category. Yeah...ACMs have gotten R.E.A.L. LOL

Carrie Underwood just wowed at the Academy of Country Music Awards. The 38-year-old singer took the stage on Sunday, to perform a gospel medley in Nashville, Tennessee, at the 2021 ACMs.

For the unforgettable performance, Underwood turned to her March 2021 album, My Savior, and performed a medley of those gospel hymns.
Belting out a few of iconic gospel classics, including "Amazing Grace," "The Old Rugged Cross" and "How Great Thou Art," Underwood stunned with her spotlight-stealing appearance.

At one point in Underwood's performance, she was joined by CeCe Winans for a duet of "Great Is Thy Faithfulness," which the pair collaborated on for Underwood's recent album.

Dolly Parton introduced the performance in a pre-recorded message, who marveled, "I am so pleased and proud to introduce my dear friend, Carrie Underwood."
"I have always admired Carrie's incredible talent, but I am just as impressed with her personal qualities-- her compassion, kindness, generosity, and, most of all, the powerful faith that we both share," Parton said. "Now, her performance tonight speaks to that faith in a medley from her new gospel hymns album, My Savior, which I know is a true passion project for her."
It was a sweet introduction for one of the night's biggest highlight performances.
ET's Rachel Smith recently spoke with Winans, and the songstress said getting to collaborate with Underwood was like a "divine connection" that resulted after years of watching Underwood's career bloom.
"I met Carrie years ago when she first won American Idol. I heard her on American Idol, of course, she's amazing. But then we both sang at the White House. I think it was Christmas at the White House," Winans recalled. "I got to hear her up close and personal and I was just like, 'Whoa, this girl can really really sing!'"
As for recording their duet of "Great Is Thy Faithfulness," Winans said, "It was fun, because she's amazing."
"I got a chance to go in and kind of just do my part, because she had really had already done hers. And when I finished she changed some things and I just love it," Winans recalled. "It's a beautiful song."
Underwood was nominated for the Video of the Year award at this year's ceremony, though that trophy went to Kane Brown. Last year, Underwood made ACM Awards history when she became the first woman to win Entertainer of the Year three times.

The biggest takeaway from the 2021 ACM Awards by far and away will be the remarkable performances by Dierks Bentley with The War & Treaty and Larkin Poe, and Carrie Underwood also joined by CeCe Winans. Some of the best awards show moments we’ve seen in a while.

8:07 – This Eric Church performance is fine. But man, don’t envy him having to follow up Carrie.

8:04 – Didn’t think anyone would top Dierks / War & Treaty, but Carrie Underwood took us to church.

8:02 – Damn, we’re getting like four songs from Carrie Underwood. Hopefully she’s eating into Dan + Shay’s time. Now she’s laying into “How Great Thou Art,” which she kills.

8:00 – Sometimes Carrie Underwood’s voice can be a little “much.” But it’s perfect for Gospel. Send it to the rafters!

7:59 – CeCe Winans can go ahead and make her country album any darn time she wants to.

7:58 – Also cool to see Carrie singing a Gospel song standing in the center of the Opry circle. That’s a feature that’s been missing from many of these award shows over the years.

7:56 – Carrie Underwood starts off her performance with an a capella version of “Amazing Grace.”

While its VERY irritating that Carrie doesn't win and isn't nominated for the awards she should be, she's shown time and time and time and time and time .... again that she doesn't need to win. Her performances ALWAYS speak for themselves. When was the last time one of her performances wasn't the most talked or the very least in the top 3?? Yeah, that's right, like never.

The thing that is disappointing and irritating to me, is that there's a set of standards, or guidelines or criteria or whatever you want to call them for everyone else but for Carrie they always change. She isn't judged by the same criteria as everyone else. They seem to always add more and more for how she's judged. And the other thing is we have to listen to lesser artists give acceptance speeches like the one MM gave last night. Talk about irritating.

Guess I'd rather have the praise and press that Carrie receives. She'll be in the HOF one day soon. The rest of them, not so much!!!! Besides so many can't really sing. I wonder with so many of the artists who told them they could sing????

The true beauty of last night speaks for itself......

Carrie was fantatic! Sounded the best all night, of course.

Also, glad Luke Combs was blanked. That's good news.

Honestly, I have nothing against Luke Combs. I like him. Sure, he doesn’t entertain like the others (bells and whistles), but he does write and sing good songs. It’s not his fault he’s a male and gets special treatment (#1s for weeks), but people do buy his music. I wasn’t too keen on him at first, but many of his songs are very introspective and I like that (Forever After All, Refrigerator Door, Beautiful Crazy, Even Though I’m Leaving, etc.) Unlike some artists, I actually do enjoy his album cuts too.

I actually like some of Luke's songs too.... He seems like a genuine nice guy as well..... For whatever reason Country music gushes all over him, he has no control over, but he is grateful for the fans that he has.....

Why on earth they erased the crowd reactions from her performance? :/

I noticed that too. I wish we could have seen which artists in the crowd were applauding and cheering. For that reason, her performance with Vince Gill is still a favorite of mine.

I had no idea it was even on! ha ha ha ha... Must be why AI was early. Her performance was, once again, one of the best vocal performances of her career! She and CC were unbelievable. And she held the end of HGTA probably longer than she ever has.

I thought it was health care workers actually who got tickets to watch, not necessarily artists sitting there, but I could be wrong on that!

I mean the audio from the crowd cheering during How Great Thou Art.

It would have been okay with me if they had left Keith's follow-up in the video! You could tell he was blown away.

I just don't think he's all that special. I must be missing something, because whatever people think he has, it just doesn't connect with me. Seems like he's rather generic, and I don't really think his voice is all that great.
