It will blow over. I don’t think any of Carries fans will turn against her for one like on a tweet, no matter who the tweet was from.
and on that note let us Carrie fans move on...

also be listening for this on your local radio station

This is absolutely ridiculous. I hate social media and what it has done to our culture. It does not matter what her opinions are, what my opinions are, or what your opinions are. The cancel culture is absolutely ridiculous and extremely toxic.

Do you know how easy it is to accidentally like a tweet on Twitter now? Theres a small chance it was accidental but even if it wasn’t people need to mind their business and let her have her opinions. Some of my favorite artists have complete opposite views as me and I do not like them any less. Sad. Hope this doesn’t have long lasting effects
Also, the fact that people actually go to see what tweets someone liked is sad. They have far too much time on their hands if they need to do that.

I don't follow anyone political that I'm aware of, but probably because of some Carrie fans I follow I see certain things. One time I RT a dog pic with a cute quote. Someone literally dm'd me and asked me if I knew who I RT?! I'm going, I seriously have to investigate people's twitter accounts before I RT something completely harmless?! GTFO lol I get people will say she's a celebrity with a platform, but Carrie didn't RT the guy, she didn't quote him, she liked his tweet. There's a good chance she doesn't even know much about him. And why are people stalkling her likes?! I mean, some people need better things to do with their time. Social media gets stranger by the day. She may have to say something because people will ask her about it, i have no idea. A liked tweet is really nobody's business, IMO. She wasn't sharing her views or trying to persuade anyone one way or another. So in that context it was much ado about nothing, but the twitter mob is crazy when they want to cancel people. Anyway, we'll see how it goes. I'm done, just wanted to share my thoughts for whatever they're worth lol

Liking a tweet boosts the tweet in the feed of everyone who follows the person who "liked" it, so it's a big deal when someone with 8.2 million follows chooses to "like" something. It is very unusual for Carrie to "like" anything outside the entertainment business, so that makes it even more noteworthy. It is a big deal.

Personally, I am perplexed and disappointed by her choice to wade into this argument at such a critical time - especially because she has been so careful to avoid issues in the past. People in school systems are doing the best they can to implement policies that protect children and allow them to keep the doors open without having to quarantine mass numbers of students due to potential exposures. If a child is wearing a mask in a classroom that has a positive COVID diagnosis, they don't automatically have to quarantine unless they were close to the positive case. Without a mask, the chances are high that the entire class is sent home for 10 days. Even if you disagree on the science, we should be supporting schools for doing what they determine is necessary (in consultation with the health department) to keep as many kids in schools as possible during an unprecedented situation in modern times. These are very complicated issues and people are getting very sick, and in many cases, they are dying. It doesn't seem like an argument that Carrie would want to engage in from a business/brand standpoint. Celebrities don't give up their right to have an opinion, but when they choose to express it (even subtly), they should anticipate the pushback that will come from using their elevated platform.

That being said, I love Carrie and will be ready to move on. We certainly don't have to agree on everything.

I personally wanted her to delete it because i think that guy is the scum of the earth for constantly mentioning her name. Other than that... moving on. I still dont' think it's a big deal for anyone to like a tweet. I see what you're saying above, but maybe they need to make likes private. I mean people have to actually go look for them, which is just strange to me.

For me I like a tweet for 2 reasons, 1 if I want my friends that I liked something they said or tweeted, 2 if I want to save something so I can go back and read or listen to something they tweeted. I don't necessarily agree with whatever but I do want to see/hear without having to spend time looking for it. Plus Carrie probably wanted to know what was happening in her area.

We as a nation are becoming so divided, I listen to/read/ watch a lot of different opinions. It seems like no one can do this anymore. I agree with some of all kinds of people.

We went from 38 MILLION flu cases in the 2019-2020 season, to 2 THOUSAND this season. The fact that no one is asking more questions about this is truly baffling. And don't give me "people were wearing masks, so cases of the flu are down" line. Mask wearing would not decrease cases by THAT much. It seems more like the COVID tests are not able to differentiate between COVID and the flu. You don't need to be a scientist or have a medical degree to use common sense. The numbers just don't add up for me. Sorry if I don't believe everything that our corrupt media, government, and yes, pharmaceutical/medical industry tells us.

Good for Carrie. I love that she hasn't apologized and I hope it stays that way. NEVER cave to the mob. They have a very short memory span anyway. In a few days they'll forget all about this and move on to the next thing to throw a hissy fit over.

well, I’m sure you’ll appreciate the CDC has said this was the case (link: https://www.cdc.gov/csels/dls/locs/...-Changes_CDC_RT-PCR_SARS-CoV-2_Testing_1.html)

I agree. It is not a big deal to like a tweet. If she had made a tweet, that is different. However, I have always hated how Twitter shows me in my feed what others like. I don’t want to see what people privately like. Especially this is a bad idea as some topics can “trigger” or upset someone, so they stay away from them until Twitter forces them to see it. If someone wants to share something, they can RT it. It is practically meant to “expose” people, which is why many apps don’t show likes

They crazy thing is there is currently a country being overrun by terrorists because of our botched exit. That should be the only news, not Carrie liking one tweet that is pretty inoffensive in the grand scheme of things.
