“It’s so much to sing,” Underwood said, and promised there was more to come. “The rest of the album … I think we managed to find some new things in my voice that I haven’t explored before. It’s kind of cool to be able to go in different places.”

THAT IS EXCITING! Cannot WAIT to hear what she's done and all the new things she has discovered with her voice!

After Randy Travis accepted the trophy, he and Mary Travis did what they did the previous two nights – they went to Nissan Stadium to watch CMA Music Festival’s nightly concerts. Over the course of the festival, the couple caught sets from Carrie Underwood, Brothers Osborne, Jason Aldean, Brett Young and more. And that night, they were anxious to see Keith Urban.

Then the moment everyone was waiting for—It was time for Carrie Underwood to take the stage and close out the show. If you needed proof that Carrie is a top contender for Entertainer of the Year, look not further than her performance at Nissan stadium.

The CMT Music Award winner, for Female Video of the Year, opened up her set by taking the crowd to church with a powerful version of “Church Bells.” Carrie then broke into a powerful rendition of her current single “Cry Pretty,” showcasing her better than ever vocal range. She then followed it up by reaching deep into her song catalog to bring out some oldies, such as “Last Name,” “Wasted” and “Undo It.”

Decked out in a sequined green romper, showing off those oft-talked about toned legs, Carrie closed out her set with “Dirty Laundry” “Blown Away” and a crowd favorite “Before He Cheats.”

Even the Oklahoma native felt the heat of her performance, taking to Twitter to share her excitement. “Holy hotness, Nashville! That stadium was on   tonight! Dunno how I’m gonna sleep tonight after that show! #CMAfest.”

And with that, Day 2 of CMA Fest was in the books.

Carrie Underwood (a.k.a The Queen of CMA Fest) blazed brightly as the day’s finale act, outfitted in a sequined green romper. Fest vendors sold crystal “tears” to be glued to your cheeks in solidarity with Carrie’’s torrid smash “Cry Pretty.”

Carrie Underwood was on some Reba McEntire **** when she closed out the Friday night lineup at Nissan Stadium, emphatically staking her claim as one of country's greatest exports. In a sparkling emerald romper, she mined McEntire's heightened sense of the theatrical on storytelling songs "Church Bells," "Dirty Laundry" and "Blown Away." She also trotted out some of her decade-old favorites, including the impossibly tricky "Wasted" and rowdy "Last Name," finishing things up as usual with the now-classic "Before He Cheats." But her searing ballad "Cry Pretty," placed in the middle of her set, was all of these things: powerhouse singing, gripping drama and a subtle nod to Guns N' Roses' "Don't Cry" in the final moments – some acknowledgement that she deserves to be in the Entertainer of the Year conversation every year. This article in RS saying that Carrie deserves to be in the EOTY conversation has me getting my hopes up that the new label may be able to get her that nomination again.

The CMA voters look more and more like idiots every year they don't give that award to Carrie. And if the award shows have a WME problem, then they need to FIX IT!
