Then the moment everyone was waiting for—It was time for Carrie Underwood to take the stage and close out the show. If you needed proof that Carrie is a top contender for Entertainer of the Year, look not further than her performance at Nissan stadium.
The CMT Music Award winner, for Female Video of the Year, opened up her set by taking the crowd to church with a powerful version of “Church Bells.” Carrie then broke into a powerful rendition of her current single “Cry Pretty,” showcasing her better than ever vocal range. She then followed it up by reaching deep into her song catalog to bring out some oldies, such as “Last Name,” “Wasted” and “Undo It.”
Decked out in a sequined green romper, showing off those oft-talked about toned legs, Carrie closed out her set with “Dirty Laundry” “Blown Away” and a crowd favorite “Before He Cheats.”
Even the Oklahoma native felt the heat of her performance, taking to Twitter to share her excitement. “Holy hotness, Nashville! That stadium was on tonight! Dunno how I’m gonna sleep tonight after that show! #CMAfest.”
And with that, Day 2 of CMA Fest was in the books.
