I thought it was about time to start one of these. We're less than a month away.

Ive been watching the USA trials this week. My fav sport is womens gymnastics, and let me say. If these girls dont fix their routines by London...USA will not be on the podium. At least we have Jordyn Weaver.

I also love Swimming, tennis, beach volleyball, and track/field. (although I usually watch all the sports haha) What do you all have your eyes on?

Thank you for this thread. Yes, I love the summer Olympics. I was watching the gymnastic trials. It seems the girls were having some trouble. Better though to have it now than later. Maybe they can fix it.

Oh I just LOVE the Olympics! I've been watching everything that's aired this week! And I watch from the opening ceremony till the closing, doesn't matter which event I just love to watch it all. I guess I love to see the back story that they show of the athletes as well!!!

I, too, just love the Olympics and it looks like this year, we're going to have more coverage than ever!! I like it all -- but my fav is gymnastics. Hopefully, Marta Karolyi will get the right girls on the team and they'll all peak at the Olympics!!

Well I follow gymnastics and if you watched last years nationals prior to the world championships the girls looked horrible then at the worlds not one mistake

If the US hits they can't be beaten this year as russia and china just are to far behind on skill to compete

^ I believe i remember that happening with the 2008 olympics too. Id watch all the prior stuff and the girls were just not hitting it and then did really well in Beijing. I just want to see us podium in the team again. I think Jordyn has a really solid chance in the all around

Yep...agree completely! Can't wait to see them perform! Guess we'll find out who is officially on the team today.

you know in 2008 it was much more of a competition in that both the US and China were the same and it was whoever hit would win well in 2012 it will be different the USA would have to have multiple mistakes and russia and china and romania would need to be perfect (which none of them have in international competition in years!) for anybody to beat the US.... it really is that big of a difference this time around

I love the olympics. Been watching all the trials this week. Swimming has always been a US strength and will continue to be. I haven't watched gymnastics since 2008 and the strange scoring system is confusing. I'm sure the opening ceremonies will be spectacular. I'm guessing the Queen opens the ceremonies doesn't she as head of state? Be interesting to see who lights the torch.

Anyone else catch some of the mens gymnastics this afternoon? Wow some of the stuff some of those guys did truly amazing. Swimming tonight should be good as well.

I love the olympics and can't wait for them to start! I want to watch as much of the trials as I can but I've only seen the swimming and the diving ones so far. I love watching the swimming, it's definitely my favorite. I can't believe some of the kids there are 16 or 17, around the same age as I am! It's incredible how talented they are. I'd love to see some gymnastics, I think that's really interesting to watch, and I love watching the diving too.

Since they took baseball away and basketball hasn't been worth watching in a long while, pretty much the only thing I'll watch is track and field, some swimming, and beach volleyball(hey, I AM a guy).

I prefer the Winter Olympics by quite a bit.

you think theyre going to throw Maroney in there? That Price girl came out of nowhere...But I def agree in the big 3....Wieber, Douglas, Raismen. I think for Ross itll depend on how well she does tmw. Shes a specialist and she fell on one of her specialties. And she didnt do well at Visa Nationals did she? I dont remember...

It can be DAVID BECKHAM since he is well known around the world including the USA now :):)

But who knows.

Of course they choose maroney :p the USA will not walk away from sure gold and if she hits her vaults (when does she not?) she can't lose.... nobody in the world can compete with her on vault

Congrats Girls!!! USA FOR GOLD!!! do what you did tonight and team gold is guarenteed!
