Carrie Underwood.....Greatest Hits: Decade #1 ERA

That would be her 4th all genre #1. And I do believe she'd be the first female country artist to do so.
I know Taylor's 1989 album will be pop, and hopefully classified as "pop" everywhere and not chart on any country charts, but I don't know if they'll still consider Taylor herself a pop/country artist. In which case, she'd get to that milestone first since 1989 will certainly come out before Carrie's new album.

Hearing that a these Hillary Lindsey co-writes are POSSIBLE for Carrie's album. Note they are not confirmed to have made album.

Homewrecker Red
Poison Apple
House without any Doors.
Poison Apple is intriging. In fact, most of the song titles we've gotten so far seem to carry a strong theme and hold potentially deep and interesting story lines.

House Without Any Doors also sounds like it could have fit with the Blown Away, Thunder, Fighter, and Lighthouse troupe.

And Homewrecker Red fits with the other color songs: Black and White, Red Roses Black, Black Gold.

With all these colors perhaps her album title could be "COLORS". Of course, we don't know that these songs will even be in the album. Just a random thought.

HWAD sounds interesting, the other two not so much to me.But then again I wasn't fond of the song name 'Two Black Cadillacs' ,so I'm a very poor judge.lol

Info came from someone close to Hillary Lindsey. Really can't say anymore than that without possibly getting someone in trouble for leaking info.

Shane McAnally also co-wrote "Keep Us Safe".

He said earlier that writing with Carrie had been one of his ambitions. On the earlier occasion, the songs didn't make the cut - this time I hope they will. Shane is one of the leading figures in the current new wave of strong songwriting.

^I like a lot of Shane's work but imo he's not as strong a story teller as Hillary Lindsey or Josh Kear. Lately most of Shane's single releases by other Artists outside Kacey are very Pop sounding with no story lines or weaker story lines imo. Just my opinion, I like Carrie best when her songs tell stories.

That's interesting. I'd agree in wanting strong story lines, and less Pop influence. I do particularly like his collaborations with Brandy Clark, such as "Mama's Broken Heart", "Follow Your Arrow" and "Better Dig Two". He had seven collaborations on Brandy's own album and nine on Kacey's, where he was also a co-producer. Another wish, though, would be to see Carrie do something with Brandy Clark herself.

I do like his work with Brandy and Kacey. However, most everything else outside of them is very Pop and lacks a strong storyline. The Kenny Chesney song American Kids, the new Lady A song Freestyle are the type of songs that do well on radio but they just don't leave any type of impression on me. The new Sam Hunt song as well.

It probably depends on whom he's writing with, and on what sort of song they want. "Keep Us Safe" does lean to General Music (like all Carrie's more recent "inspirational" songs) - but I still think "Keep Us Safe" is well written.

This is also a Shane McAnally co-write - and I wonder if something on these general lines would meet the wish many fans have for a Carrie love song:

Yes, it probably does depend on who he's working with. I like his writing on songs that don't get any mainstream radio play much more than his songs that are being released on radio lately. I'm not against songs with pop elements as long as they have a good story line. Much like Blown Away did. I just don't feel like most of Shane's mainstream work has that.

That said, I can't imagine a Josh Kear, Hillary Lindsey, Shane McAnnally song not being good, so I hope one of those cuts makes the Album.
