Jaime Wyatt Premieres Track Off Prison Stint-Inspired 'Felony Blues' Album | Billboard

There's also this new artist called Jaime Wyatt who has been brutally honest in her interviews about going to prison and also addiction. This interview also includes her song with Sam Outlaw called Your Loving Saves Me, and her debut album is called Felony Blues. I don't think she will gain commercial success but she just might be alongside Margo Price in not having a radio hit but still gaining widespread recognition and acclaim.

Bailey Bryan: Sounds like a Disney star trying to be a country singer.
Caroline Jones: The song reminds me of the The band Perry.
Brooke Eden: I don't know if I already heard it before or if reminds me of another song. l like it, though.
Olivia Dvorak: She got me with the instrumental, but didn't convince me with the voice/lyrics.
Carly Pearce: Good song, It would be even better if she didn't repeat "every little thing" so much.

I can't see the others videos, maybe because I live in Brazil. Anyway. Two new songs in my playlist. Thanks :)

This new artist is also signed to Third Man Records, the same label that Margo Price is on.

I really like that, and am looking forward to her full album release (April, I think)

Lillie Mae belongs to the Rische family - a few years ago she, with her brother and two sisters, formed the quartet Jypsi - which received some very strong reviews, and had some creditable Mainstream notice - but, sadly without long term success - though in my opinion, they were one of the most promising breakouts of the decade. (Her brother Frank Rische played a significant part in the preparation of Miranda Lambert's new album)

Lillie Mae also played fiddle in Jack White's band - and he is both the producer and the label owner of her new album. (Although I don't check the site often - and don't tend to agree with much of its approach - I'd be interested to see how Saving Country Music review the album - they seemed rather under-whelmed by Margo Price's release, and have made uncomplementary comments about Jack White's influence in the Roots genre)

This is the link to the early listen to Lindi Ortega's forthcoming EP

Lindi Ortega, Til the Goin' Gets Gone - CBC Music

After several years in Nashville - where she earnt a strong underground reputation, made a cameo guest appearance on the first season of the "Nashville" TV series, and became a critical favourite on the Americana wing, Lindi is now living back in her native Canada. Despite the dark theme of her EP, which reflects a feeling that she might need to give up music, Lindi has decided to continue independently. The EP contains three self-penned songs, plus a cover of TVZ's "Waitin' Around to Die" - an Outlaw classic, and a brave choice for any artist to take on.

I never knew the names of the people in Jypsi and I only ever heard one song by them called Mr. Officer (and after listening to it on YouTube, I just realized they introduced themselves as well). I really liked the song and was sad to see Jypsi not taking off. I'm happy to see her back and also having done well since Jypsi.

Really happy for Lauren this week! Great accomplishment that has been a lot of hard work and dedication.

Congrats also to others in the genre who have been finding success and making their way.

I am so glad Carrie is not alone in a genre that supports men almost exclusively. There was a time years ago where I held to Carries successes protectively knowing that there would always and only be "so much success to go around for women". But since Carrie in no closer to the single winning circle than any other women I don't feel a need to protect anything. She is at the top of her game through hard work and talent. Awards are not representing that because the awards are bought and paid for by the industry and they go to the elite few they want them to go to. So aside from the one woman in the industry elite women of country music are just going to have to work hard have honest success and enjoy it for what it is. The still have a true privilege making music and having it be heard and enjoyed by the public.

I am just grateful that we get to hear some of the wonderful music that is made by women in the genre on the radio even if it is not nearly often enough.

As for awarding these women. I see no need to focus on that. As it is clear that the industry does not focus on it. They give it to one. And that one is all there has been or will be for the foreseeable future. I say let them have it. ITs very sad for the hard working women who are actually making the music that we are enjoying. But there is nothing to be done about it. Instead I say we just enjoy the music!

I remember them! I never was into them as much, but I do believe Taylor once mentioned that she liked them.

Patrick, I so agree.... It would be so nice to see ladies made more prevalent in today's Country music..... So many try so hard just to get that recognition.....

IT was so nice back in the day to have such a strong and powerful force with women in Country music. Would be nice to see the Lorrie Morgans and or K.T Oslins of yester year who wrote and had some great music in the industry.....

FVOTY award always had vast array of female singers with several who always dominated in the nominee category, but you had different ones coming up every year.... And ones that had the chance to win it based on the true merit for which the title stood for and represented......

The idea of a single artist winning an award more than once should be seen as "exceptional" and a true mark of a single persons indelible mark on the industry. 8 years in a row is so much more than a "rigged" system. It is a clearly broken system that does not even care enough about what it stands for to right itself....... Its just very sad and embarrassing to these talented women of country.

Momin, I love The Dreaming Fields! It reminds me so much of my grandfathers place, where we had such wonderful memories! It's on my playlist and I play it a lot!
