I pray it's not Backsliding. It's not my cup of tea, and I don't think it's all that representative of Cry Pretty.

they did not push yesterday or radio just pushed back against it ,so Billboard #1 is probably impossible *sigh*

SB drops to #2 (-219 spins/-.162 AIs)
2 CARRIE UNDERWOOD Southbound 7902 7122 780 46.520

So UMG pulled promo on Sunday and Carrie lost the #1 for so little! Can't believe it! Such a shame!

Anyway, happy for the mediabase #1! Ready for Drinking Alone!

This reminds me of the time Sony pretty much gave up on Dirty Laundry when it only needed a few spins. But, as already stated, UMG could have pushed it until the end and radio retaliated, but who knows. I'm glad Mediabase gave it a #1, but Billboard would've been the cherry on top. It's strange how they work compared to MB.

It seems like Carrie's team, no matter what label she's with is focused on Mediabase as their #1 chart. They never push for Billboard, so it shouldn't be surprising at this point. It's a #1, so that's a win to them, I'd say.

Anyway on to the next, I'm so ready for "Drinking Alone" or "Low".

this is the year do date chart through September( numbers are total spins on mediabase for the year) .And you can see by the low spins for SB that radio didn't want to play it much, just like with CP and LW. Women, and women over 35 in particular, have almost no place on their playlist

I wonder what kind of Billboard chart record she would have by now, had Mediabase never existed.

She has 15 #1s on the Country Airplay + 9 #2s. She lost 9 #1s due to mere AIs, something her labels/team would have focused on had Mediabase never existed, cause Billboard would be the only music chart.
So, she should have 24 #1s on Billboard by now, up there with all those male singers' records.

It doesn't matter what anyone says, Billboard is the most important chart, the one that counts for everything including Guinness World Record.

It's a shame.

Well, at least she's the woman with most #1s in history of the Country Airplay chart.

She technically has a Guinness World Record, so what difference does it make? She's the number one country female artist and among the top country artists of the last 15-20 years. Billboard numbers have not effected her popularity one bit. There is nobody out there that will say they aren't a fan of her because she has 15 Billboard #1s instead of 20, no one. She is a legend, and she is at the top of her game.

Totally agree with you. It's amazing how many times the same point has to be reiterated to remind people of the climate country music is in.

Just gonna drop this here. “Chris Owen,” a guy who works at a station in NY tweeted this..

I’m fully expecting “Prayed for You” to be #1 on Billboard Country Airplay tonight; “Southbound” lost over 200 spins and nearly 200k in Mediabase audience in today’s update. They only went for the Mediabase #1 — pushing through Saturday.

Split chart this week.
