Well well well. I must first say that as usual Carrie absolutely and undeniably stole the show with her opening and her medley of women of country songs! I’m telling you that girl is just a phenom! She brought back to life the glory of some of the best of the best!!!! And Twitter is excited as all get out with it too! Somehow I must say I’m not too surprised that she TIED. They just can’t seem to give her the top spot that she deserves to save their lives without some “hitch in the get along.” But I for one will take it as it’s much better than the alternative. I adore her grace in acceptance speeches as much as I relish each and every note she sings!!!!!!!

Oh she was on fire!!! Gosh her voice on Crazy is sooooo beautifel! Gosh stunning!! And congrats for EOTY.. It was about time!

Love the reactions on her performance and win! Even the peeps of Saving Country Music were positive of Carrie. I know Trigger gives Carrie most of the time probs for her voice. He just doesn’t like her music and thats ok. But the peeps in the reaction section were postive on her medley as to her winning the big one. And wow they don’t like Rhett...

Like she said it's 2020 man, but I am happy she won no matter what. Her Opry female tribute was wonderful and I love all the rave reviews because she deserves it.

This on the other hand made me sad:

"We’ve been taking steps in the right direction — which is really nice to see — and tonight with me getting to honor some of the women that we’re all standing on their shoulders. I don’t think I could ever look at myself like (those women). I feel like a tourist still. I’m waiting for the day that people figure me out and leave me behind. I will never look at myself the way that anybody should look at those women. I’m always really glad to hear when people like what I do" Backstage with the Winners at the ACM Awards | CMT

Don't feel sad. i know Carrie wants to be remembered one day for her stamp on what she contributed to country. I think it's just a hard question to answer. Most people don't ever see themselves as their heroes, or people they admired growing up. It's also good that she's still humble, which makes her more like some of her heroes. I think becoming as successful as Carrie she could have let it go to her head, but somehow she's managed to stay grounded and keep things in perspective. All the more reason to love and admire her. It serves her well when the industry is so biased.

Two men said the perfect things about Carrie..... Her father and Simon Cowell.....

Carrie you will take the world by storm, and Carrie you are not the girl to beat, you're the person to beat, I will make a prediction...........

Well truer words could not have been spoken......

I am so surprised that Carrie won EOTY! So happy for her, but surprised. I would have preferred she was co-EOTY with Eric Church instead of Thomas Rhett, but at least she won! I have more hope that the CMA will follow suit. Still tempered expectations for that, but looks a bit better.

Her performance was wonderful as well. So glad she sang "Crazy" and "A Broken Wing" (which was amazing). "You Ain't Woman Enough" was great, and "I Was Country When Country Wasn't Cool" wasn't a surprise. I was surprised by her choices for Dolly and Reba. I was totally not expecting "Why'd You Come In Here Looking Like That", but it was fun to hear. And, while I was hoping for "You Lie", I understand why she didn't do two very big vocals back to to back. "The Night The Lights Went Out in Georgia", was a choice I didn't expect, and loved to hear. Can't wait to watch this again.

Edit: Reading through the comments after the win. I'm so disappointed that so many are mad that she had to "share the award". She won, and still we complain. This is why this fanbase is called toxic. She won her third Entertainer of the Year award!! No other female artist has done this, and many other artists have not either. She still received the most votes, despite Thomas receiving the same amount. She won, don't give the fanbase a bad name.

Pitch-perfect performance. Not one dodgy note, not even in the lowest end of her range. Simply a brilliant vocal, and one of her best ever.

I thought her Reba's song choice was a strange choice, but she still delivered it. So many number #1's in Reba's repertoire, like you I was expecting a strong song that showcased the voice like Reba had......

Her Patsy choice was perfect.... Showcased that lower register....

I wasn’t surprised by “The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia,” it’s one of Reba’s top 3 most iconic songs. The song that really surprised me was “Why’d You Come In Here Lookin’ Like That” and it was a welcomed surprise! So fun! Wouldn’t mind hearing it AND “A Broken Wing” on the next tour.

It's either fans get mad if she loses or tie people are never happy.

It has been incredibly frustrating these past few years and to finally get here...and this happens, it just feels like half a victory. I can see why people are upset and honestly, I feel they could have easily broken the tie if they really wanted to by reviewing actual stats from the past year and award to a single artist (Carrie in my opinion).

I remember Carrie saying that she's always wanted to perform Reba's song "You Lie," so I was hoping for that!

Well, I’ve personally woken up feeling more at peace with this. Yes, I am frustrated with the Academy that they let this happen. I don’t know what they expected the reaction to be. But this is her first award from them in a decade. First EOTY in a decade. This is what we are always hoping for and I’m sure Carrie looks at it as a win, so I will too.

Wonder if it was because she was immediately following it up with "A Broken Wing". Two major vocals would have been tough I imagine.

In the moment last night I was a little mad (I shouldn’t have been), but I’m content with it now. It just felt so typical with how things normally go...like we have been waiting since 2010 for this to happen again and had gotten so close to some big solo wins, and of course it’ll forever have an asterisk by it. I think the reactions are more so in regard to Thomas Rhett being the other person based off of the comments in general, like Saving Country Music’s latest article. I think part of it is feeling as though this situation was so avoidable (and I feel pretty confident a tie break would have lead to her being the sole winner). That said, Carrie will be the one remembered down the road, not TR, and I’m just forgetting about him because I don’t think he’s remotely comparable to Carrie. Her press conference was really nice too.
