'Cry Pretty' chart updates

It'd be cool if it reached #1 on Sunday September 9th (my birthday, lol), but I hate this artificial way by big labels to give away #1s to almost everyone. What's the point? Cp did its job, I'd prefer for them to move on

Cry Pretty is the one getting pushed (CCUSA effect) but 5 songs out of 8 in the top 10 are getting bigger updates! Lol worst push ever.

Good news: if CP get a +100 spins in tomorrow update it could pass FGL and Brett Young or at least one of them.

Where are you seeing this? This isn't what the mediabase building chart shows.

Thanks Donna!!!

Just wanted to add, that Cody Alan is still doing his part -- this morning I heard CP 3 times during his show!!!!

I heard Cry Pretty frequently now in our country radio station. I am bored listening to country male songs. I prefer to listen to my Pandora. I listen ONLY to country radios when Carrie's single is in the Top 10. I am starting to like Luke Bryan though since he became a judge on American Idol on ABC.

Luke’s songs always sound so much alike I can’t distinguish when one song stops and the next one begins. Ok slight exaggeration but just ughhhhh

CP is likely to move up to #6 this week if ME is dropping fast enough she gains enough AIs to pass FGL. With JA peaking this week, TR, LB and OD taking turn to peak at #1 and if DS gets a #2/3, CP has a good chance of peaking at #1/2 in 3-4 weeks.

UMG better keep pushing CP!!!

building chart is just a building chart

Aldean,Rhett,Bryan and OD all had updates over well 100 today
radio just does not want to play CP, really hope this week it's done & over and they move on to single 2
go here and click on country - https://kworb.net/radio/

I agree,it just doesn’t want to play CP,I personally think they just need to cut their losses & move on to single 2.I would think if the song was meant to get to #1,then it would’ve been pushed way before now instead of UMG waiting so long to push it.It would take a huge effort to push CP to the top now & there’s just no way to guarantee if it will even get there now.Not to ruffle any feathers here, but even finishing in the top 5 is still a huge accomplishment for Carrie & it shouldn’t be considered a failure by any stretch of the imagination.

Radio airplay of a single is a PROMOTION. You do not measure the VALUE of the single on the sales of digital download. It is considered a MARKETING EXPENSE. If, it will earn money from digital download, well and good. It will just be considered "other income" of the label. A "number one" single create buzz for the album and one of the most important tools in SELLING the ALBUMS. It will pay off big for the label in album sales. It will pay off big on buzz marketing. It will pay off big to create excitement around the album and stimulate and excite the Fan Base. It will pay off big for Carrie and the other three songwriters from payment for radio airplay from radios. The more radio airplay the better from the MARKETING point of view.

Is there a demonstrable result that can allow for calculation of "return on investment" in radio airplay of a single? With social media and website linked marketing this is not only possible, it can be fine tuned to such a degree that it is possible to detect the actual marketing being reach; the demographic, group, the region, the sex, etc. But, it is up to the marketing specialist of UMG to decide what is good for Cry Pretty album or not. In fact, UMG developed a "multifaceted" modern approach that could meet marketing and promotional needs of Cry Pretty album in their promotional activities that we have seen so far.

Cry Pretty is up to #8 on Mediabase now! If she is unable to go to #1 or #2, I hope at least it'll get top 5. Being able to say that all her singles have been top 5 singles sounds a lot more impressive than top 10. However, I wish it can go #1 because the song really deserves it.

Exactly.... If any of the songs in the top 5 now or the prior number #1's recently, CP deserves the top spot......

No once can tell me that the song is just not radio friendly, it is the lack of not playing it from the radio programmers.... bottom line..

No matter what happens, at least UMG is trying. And btw, as for the pictures and press I think they did a great job for the CP album Nashville listening party.
