Greatest Hits, Decade 1 album sales (week 1)

I believe RIAA certification only counts album sales (no streaming). With another 12k or so, the album sales total is up to 232k. Could be certified Gold in a week or two.

But RIAA counts shipments not actual sales. It surely shipped well over 250k long ago. It should have been certified gold on January 9. They must not have applied yet.

An iTunes discount could definitely push it back to No 1 easily. Wonder if they'll do that. Push SITW to No 1, certified the compilation gold, then discount the album following the buzz.

That's great. With the state of cd sale the way they are, I think this album is doing amazing. Especially considering its music that most country fans who are interested in CU already have.

Cool. She should ship Platinum by the Fall hopefully, for Xmas sales, just in time for the new album.

So true, last year only 4 albums sold over 1 million copies. The two biggest albums in the country genre right now, Eric and Jason, are still below that. I'm really interested in how Luke does because I think his numbers will give us a good idea of what's the new sales expectations for country artists.

Sorry to be a downer but I doubt it. There's very little album space in stores these days, so even though she's still selling, she'll likely be squeezed out by all the new album releases coming out.

I am really interested in seeing the 1st week sales that Bryan has too.

But Platinum is only 500k, and that means she only has to ship 400K to be certified Platinum. That is not out of the realm of possibility.

She already shipped over 300K since she scanned almost 300K already. She only has to sell 100K more albums by Christmas season to be close to the Platinum shipping.

Right now she is selling almost 10k a week. Figure that drops off to 5K a week. 5K a week x 20 weeks + 100K sold. She has like 40 weeks left to sell before Christmas.

She will be well over 400K sold by Christmas, so she will ship at least 450K by then, maybe more. Platinum by the end of the year should be pretty easy.
