Does anyone know how much Play On had sold when it was certified 2x platinum?

Great sales :) With the discount and now closer to Christmas, I'll be disappointed if she doesn't sell 50k+ this week.

Agree. I think she can go 2x platinum too by the dnd of 2013- at least 2x certification for shipments anyway. She may not scan 2x platinum by late 2013 - but she should ship it for certification hopefully.

I'm thinking, if she gets a PCA, Grammy and ACM performance - She'll get a good boost. If Carrie manages to win any televised awards, I think we'll see a GREAT boost. With the promotion this era, I wouldn't be surprised if Carrie performed Two Black Cadillacs at the PCAs and ACMs and then perform Blown Away at the Grammys. A killer performance at the Grammys can maybe see her get another 100,000+ sales week. I'm excited to see what she'll be doing in between legs. I think she'll rest until mid January and start doing a bit of promotion for Two Black Cadillacs, I don't think she's going to let that flop. I also think the music video for Two Black Cadillacs will assist in album sales. :)

If Carrie does a gospel album, it will be to express her faith and not to get radio airplay.

Agree. I love how Carrie just does whatever she loves to do without consideration of making money, winning awards, etc.

I know that I will support her no matter what her decisions are. They will be made from her heart and you can't ask for more than that. ;)

1,930,000

After certified, it took almost 20 weeks to reach 2 million.

So Carrie mentioned in an interview that some day she would like to do a Gospel album. Would that album then be considered Country??? Just wondering....

Alan Jackson did a gospel album called Precious Memories in 2006 and it was classified as country.

Oh I did not realize that. I bought that Alan Jackson gospel album and it is awesome. But I didn't realize it was classified country.

Well to clarify, Precious Memories charted on the Christian Albums chart, the Christian & Gospel Albums chart and the Country Albums chart.

If I'm remembering correctly, Alan did that gospel album for his mother...she always wanted him to do a gospel album and he did it for her...I love that!

Top country albums on the BB 200 chart. I am surprised that the current albums for some of the artists with top 10 hits are selling so poorly (e.g. Miranda, Lee Brice, Kip Moore).
