In the blog or her the post about not attending the Grammy's?
She mentioned it in her blog.

Honestly, I think skipping the ACMs would make things much worse.
Well she didnt go to the previous ceremony where the country awards are given, and she was there all the 3 years before, so she probably knew something. Or maybe it was just because Mike was with her, because it was weird that she wasnt there to accept her Grammy for ITYS.
I think there is a simple explanation. Carrie now has something more important to her at home. Certainly she will still go to the ACMs and still be co-hosting the CMAs (assuming she is asked). But beyond that, she is going to choose being with Mike over attending awards shows.

Uh-oh - it's unhealthy for me to spend all my time with my husband, lol? I'm in trouble then. We can't hardly stand to be away from each other for a night and we've been married 3 years and spend most of our time together, lol.
Although I fully support Carrie's right to take her own decisions about her priorities, I can't help wondering if this is in her best career interests.
All award shows have their flaws, and may suck or be boring from time to time - but they are showcases for the industry. Just now, the record company is not putting Carrie forward to the extent they should be (as we and others elsewhere have said), and that seems to be giving her career a lower profile outside the loyal fanbase. All the more reason to be seen at these big occasion showcases.
Also, an artist's reaction to disappointing nominations, and even losses, gets noticed, with lots of internet comment. Those who are seen to react with respect and generosity for the other choices made earn more respect (I think Carrie does feel that way already - but showing it publicly to an unforgiving press and public never hurts).
Finally, being at the event can win you kudos with the voters, which can carry over into support for other years (Admitedly, that is based on the smaller audience IBMAs and AMAs, which love artists who are seen to fully commit to their formats - but it wouldn't surprise me if it cut some ice with the bigger award shows too)

Thank you. Someone sees my point of view at last. lol Some people constantly make me feel like I am a terrible person for simply wanting Carrie's career to flourish, while having a happy personal life too. lol I guess it is just that in this day and age, women no longer have to make that hard choice between a personal life and a career. We can, and do, have it all.
I think appearing at award shows is very important, especially those outside of country music. In Carrie's case, some of her album sales still come from her pop American Idol fans, so it is silly to blow off that format completely if you are nominated for an award- especially the Grammys.
I thought she would appear at the Dolly Parton tribute at least. She loves Dolly and now they are kind of friends after the Xmas special. Odd.
So does that mean she may never go to awards shows agaiin outside of the ACMS or CMAs? Confused. Other married country stars make all the award shows and balance their personal lives too. Odd that she would have to choose between one over the other when she can easily have both, like the rest of us females with careers and relationships.
But if she is choosing to not care about her career as much, then I guess there is nothing we can do about it. I just look at Faith Hill and Martina, Brad, Reba, etc, and they all seem to have good personal lives but also make the award shows (if nominated).
I don't really see what the big deal is. She has like .05 chance of winning, seeing as how her label will be tripping over thier own neck ties to back Miranda like they have with everything else. She's not performing so really what does it matter? She'll attend the ACM's and perform. I'm not really sure she's taking time off, but probably writing a little and getting ready for album number 4. Besides I would rather her take time off to be with her family/husband until she is refreshed and ready to put new stuff out again. She's had a lot of bummer things happen to her lately so maybe she just needs time to rest and get excited about the music again. I totally see nothing wrong with that. I want a killer next album, not one she just threw together so fans wouldn't freak out about her not being everywhere.
That is a HUGE leap Tee. When did she ever say that or for that matter even hint at it. Please, the over the top reactions & speculations are causing much undo hurt & angst.

Are we sure about this already? I was thinking it would suck big time if this year they decide to present Country Female in the live show. I think they change some of the categories they present live each year. But maybe if they were going to, Carrie would have gone.

I agree, and we are also going to have to acept that it's possible she was not asked to attend.Tee, I think that you are reading way to much in to Cary's post.
Carrie is going to still do the Grammy's, PCA, AMA's etc..., but unless she is performing, presenting or up for one of the all genre awards at the Grammy's, she isn't going to go to all these shows like she use to because she is now married and wants to spend time with Mike and when the time comes that they do start a family she will even do less of these shows.
It's not that she doesn't want to enhance her career it's that Mike is far more important to her than going and sitting at any awards show.
I think we have to be careful and not be too judgmental or analytical of Carrie's schedule/activities, as we are not privy to every detail of her life. Carrie always manages to surprise us with "special projects". So, I think we have to be patient and enjoy such surprises as they arise. There's no point in worrying about things we are not privy to. We just need to be happy for Carrie and support her as she divulges her latest activities. We know she's working on her next album, so let's move forward and be happy about that.
