Country Album Sales Comparison

I was worried a long time ago, even the country single sales are pretty dismal. At least ZBB's GH will get a Black Friday boost, Carrie's GH won't even be out yet. : (

However, ZBB had no promo and as txacar mentioned above, Carrie has SITW. I still think she'll open with less than 100K but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's at least 75K.

I found it kind of odd that ZBB had no promo, no new single in their GH album.

For Carrie, there may be a high number of "complete the album" as the SITW has had strong digital sales and visibility. I'm hoping for at least 40k in "complete the album" and about 150k for first week sales.

I always trust your predictions Pi so I'll believe. : )

I think it is time that they start changing their certifications. Maybe have gold be 400,000, and platinum be 800,000 now. I think they have needed to lower them for the last 5 years or soo.

Things shouldn't change just because albums sales are terrible, if artists have the following to get to gold and/or platinum they still will it will just take long to get there.

I think that she has a shot at hitting six figures opening week and if she doesn't it really isn't that big of a deal, it's a greatest hits album that IMO wasn't their original plan.

Thanks for the sales numbers guys!

I predict Carrie will debut in the six figures for her Greatest Hits release next month.

Little Big Town's new album is amazing btw.....I highly recommend it!

With the inclusion of streams, the total sales for albums are kind mess up, so I'm not gonna update this anymore. Thank you ",

I understand if you don't want to do it anymore as the BB200 will include the streams, but Billboard will still have a top album sales only chart. Also, I think soundscan data is still sales only. Billboard will get its streaming numbers from other sources for the BB200 chart.

Yes, but it seems that the numbers we have are counting streams already.
Garth's album sales for example are very confusing to me. First week: 118k, second: 62k and the total? 192k '-'

Pretty impressive that in this climate Carrie's GH album might sell 85k, which is more than the opening of other artists' new studio albums, country or not.
